Teacher Gifts

Can you believe summer is almost over? I don't know about you, but we're trying to cram in all sorts of fun stuff in these last days before school.

Speaking of school - did you see this? Jenn pulled together a feature for the A Muse blog - teacher gifts! I love making little treats for Lily's teachers, so I was all over this.

I call these dollar spot gifts! Everything was $1 - stamp from Target, hand sanitizer from Bath & Body Works, bookmark from Michael's ... even the bag itself was $1. Decorate the bags with some A Muse goodies, add some fun crinkle shred (left from Easter clearance) and you have a super cute budget-friendly back-to-school teacher gift. :)

Only one Sneak Peek on this card though ... the skull & crossbones. Love them! So perfect for BOY cards, any time of year.

Can't wait to show you some more of this fun Halloween release. Don't forget to check out the other A Muse Instructor and Designer blogs! Lots of sneakies out there for your peepers. :)

Ink: Palette (Noir)
Punches: EK Success (1 3/8" circle), Marvy Uchida (extra jumbo scallop circle)

Join us! Smudges - 952-974-9885

The frosty looking stuff on the oval and coconuts is actually glitter - I snapped the picture before it dried, thus making it look frosty and not sparkly! :\

Quick Tip!

I had a few people ask how I did the banner on my Grey's Anatomy challenge card from last night. I took a tip from Emily and used a square punch to make the points. Thanks, Emily! Great tip - never would have thought of this myself. ;)

The entire banner idea was inspired by this card by the QUEEN herself!

Whew!

That was FUN! Thanks to the FAB 4 for all their work - Geeta, Jennie, Michelle, and Rhonda. Great job on VMAA #3 ladies!

Thought this would be a fun photo to share with you. As I finished each challenge, I put that card on display - here's what I have to show for 2 hours of stamping challenges. Not bad, huh?

(don't you just love my little chick display stands? tee hee)

VMAA #3 ... Friends

Bonus time! Surprise!

Julie's challenge was to make a humorous friendship card. I love her humorous cards ... they crack me up!

I made this for my best friend. YES - that's right! My best friend Candice is three months pregnant. Surprise! :) Soon we'll be Auntie Lyndsay and Uncle Geoff. So excited about this news. It's been an emotional couple of months since Candice and Shaun found out, but everyone is all aboard the baby train now and super excited.

So this card's for Candice! She's amused (no pun intended) by the prego stamp and the prego chick - she's going to love this!

And can you tell I'm loving my new SU! scallop circle punch? (Thanks for hooking me up, Theresa!)

VMAA #3 ... One Tree Hill

This challenge was all Jennie ... my One Tree Hill sister! :)

The challenge was to use just one stamp. I thought that would be super easy ... but it stumped me a bit! I ended up using the Happy Day sentiment ... because any day with One Tree Hill is a happy day! Right, Jennie? ;)

Here's my card:

VMAA #3 ... LOST

Rhonda's challenge was a LOST theme. Use all your favorite goodies, only the ones you'd have with you if you were stranded on an island. Ha! So funny.

I could never pick just one favorite A Muse stamp, so I decided to use my very first A Muse stamp ... Flower Drinks! So fun to use this stamp, because I haven't in a very long time. It truly was LOST ... had to dig around for it!

Other favorites I used were twinkle stickers (and lots of 'em), Popsicle Pink Kitchen 4-Bar note, Surf solid, black grosgrain stitched ribbon, foam tape, glitter, Copics, and my new Fiskars threading waters border punch! I love this punch ... even though I covered up the tiny holes with twinkle stickers. ;)

Here's my card:

VMAA #3 ... Grey's Anatomy

Geeta loves Grey's! Her challenge was to make a card about loooooove ... :)

Here's mine! This was my first attempt at a "banner" ... what do you think?

VMAA #3 ... Passport to Europe

Our first VMAA challenge tonight was to use this photo as inspiration:

Here's my card!

Can't wait for the next challenge! Be back soon ...

Ready ... Set ... Go!

I've cleaned up my workspace a bit ... getting ready for tonight's VMAA #3!
