Looking Better ...

You must have all been sending me good vibes, because the new paint color in the craft room looks *fabulous*! Cloudless by Behr. It took two thick coats of primer, and two coats of paint to cover up the school-bus-yellow, but it worked! My dear friend Patty helped me, and we had a blast. You should have heard us squealing when we saw how gorgeous the color looked on the walls!

I braved IKEA alone on Saturday and found almost everything I had post-it flagged in the catalog, except the bookshelf. They had every other color and size, of course. I did manage to spend almost $200 anyway, but $140 was paid for with birthday gift cards from Geoff's parents and brothers. Hooray!

I called the number they gave me, and on Tuesday they said they had 4 in stock. Only FOUR! I left work an hour early to drive out there before rush hour traffic, buzzed through the entire store and down to the warehouse, to find TWO remaining bookshelves. I don't think I've ever lifted such heavy boxes so quickly.

I also picked up two tabletops ($9.99 each) and some adjustable legs ($14 each) to make new craft tables for me and Lily. My mom paid for Lily's craft table parts, so that was nice. Hopefully these tables will fit nicely in the room. I went for the adjustable legs because I want mine taller, and Lily's shorter, but wanted the tables to match. Plus, I can raise Lily's table as she grows! Well worth the tiny investment. The tabletops are white, and the legs are silver, so they will look nice in the room.

Now, to get Geoff to assemble everything. ;)

Oh! Our new couch and Lily's new bunk bed were delivered this morning. Geoff called and said they look great. Can't wait to get home to see them! Our house is coming together, slowly but surely.
