Yellow?
We're in the process of moving, as you all know.
At Home Depot on Sunday, I made a quick decision to paint the craft room bright yellow with chocolate brown bands across the walls. I read that YELLOW stimulates creativity and intellect. So ... I chose yellow. Last minute.
I don't normally do last minute decisions.
I went to the new home today to have lunch with Geoff and his mom (who doesn't work, and is helping him paint) ... and the craft room was yellow. YELLOW! I know I picked out the color, but IT'S SO YELLOW!
I don't know what to think of it yet. Geoff told me to give it a chance, let two coats dry, wait to see the chocolate bands across the walls, wait to see furniture and accents/wall hangings in there. If I don't like it, he'll help me paint it again.
You guys ... it's just so ... YELLOW.
Like yellow-line-in-the-middle-of-the-road yellow.
Yikes. What have I done?

yellow is HARD.
Hmmm. I did a similiar thing, and when we moved a few years ago made a snap decision to paint our den yellow. Well, actually it was Martha Stewart Oat Straw. I am not a yellow person, and then all of the sudden, the largest room in my house was yellow. Oh my. However, we decided to give it a shot with the furni and the wallies, and ya know, I was happy with it for 4 years. It is now a mouse-y brown. Good luck, and remember, it is only paint and easy to change out!
Kind of like when we painted the kids' bathroom orange. It didn't look that orange in the store! But I was able to bring it waaaaay down by off-setting it with a midnight blue shower curtain and towels. A dark jewel tone could maybe do the same for the yellow?
Pics, pics ... I need to see pics, Lyndsay! :)
So anxious to see what you do with all your furniture and accents in place! Good luck!
Hopefully you'll like it better once it is all together. You can always re-paint it!
It's sunshine all day and all night then! I think the brown will be a good accent color - hope you post pics when it's all done!
