News!

We found a new home! We close on July 27, and hopefully move in that weekend. The best thing about this house ... I finally get a craft room. *bounce*bounce* No more using the coat closet as a craft closet! No more crafting on the dining room table! No more piles of crafty things taking over the bedroom!

So, naturally, my priority upon moving in is painting/decorating/setting up my new craft room. I told Geoff he could handle unpacking the rest of the house. :)

Geoff's mom is really good at faux painting, and she did a very cool technique on her living room walls - they are sage green with rows of large diamonds down the walls in a lighter shade of sage green. I've recruited her to help me paint the craft room pink, with rows of metallic silver diamonds down the walls. :)

Lily and I made a trip to IKEA yesterday, and I've found some fabulous items for the craft room. Lots of silver things, to coordinate with the silver diamonds that will be on the wall. And I figure we can just spray paint the black things silver.

So, check out my finds!

I will buy a few of these rails.

Then, some of these buckets for scissors/colored pencils/etc. Lily will have a rail with 4-5 of these above her art desk with all of her coloring/cutting supplies in them.

Also, one of these cool paper towel holders. How handy will that be?

Then, maybe some baskets in this size, this size, and this size.

In a couple of these baskets, I will put these jars filled with small embellishments.

There is a ledge along the wall under the window, and I'll put my desk there. On the ledge I'll put a row of jars like this one and this one filled with ribbons!

Oh, and the desk I want? Yeah. It's a kitchen thing, really sturdy, with all of those drawers! Wow. Geoff said it's too expensive, but that he and his dad can probably build me one! :)

Heather's IKEA curtain rod for ribbon storage/display is so awesome, I'm stealing it!

I also love what Jenn and Heather have done with the shallow shelves for stamps. I'm going to have Geoff help me find some shelves like that to display/store my ever-growing A Muse collection.

If anyone has any great craft room storage/organization photos, give me a link! I'd love some more ideas. This is so exciting for me ... my very own craft room! I never thought it would happen.

A pink room with metallic diamonds!?!?! You have GOT to take photos and share with us when it's all done! That sounds SO cool!

The white shelves I used for the A Muse stamps were from IKEA too! Score! IKEA is great for this stuff, isn't it?

I'll take some more pics soon too since I'm mid re-org too!

Oh ... and congrats on finding a house! That's so exciting!!!
